Dora sophomore Kinley Luna reflects on reaching 1,000 points in hoops, state title in cross country

Kinley Luna of Dora has accomplished a lot as a multi-sport athlete. She helped lead Dora to its first cross country state title in program history and has already reached 1,000 points in basketball while only being a sophomore. Luna is also a part of the track team and is looking to have another spectacular season.

Luna took part in one more basketball event this past weekend. She was invited to play in the Southwest Missouri All-Star Saturday game on the campus of Mission University in Springfield.

In cross country, Luna finished the fall season as All-Region Honorable Mention by the Southwest Cross Country Coaches Association. Dora’s state championship came Nov. 8 at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, and it the school’s first state title in any girls’ sport. Luna says it was a great feeling when her team was able to hoist up their trophy.
