Tuesday results include MHHS baseball, softball teams losing to Farmington

The Mountain Home High School baseball team ended up with its second straight loss on Tuesday. The Bombers fell to Farmington 9-7 at McClain Park. Mountain Home drops to 9-4 on the season and 2-2 in the 5A-West.

In other baseball, Cotter swept a doubleheader over Alpena with scores of 10-0 and 21-0, Flippin shut out Lead Hill 17-0, Calico Rock routed Shirley 11-1, Gainesville lost to Mountain Grove 6-2, Salem fell to Melbourne 11-1, Mountain View was toppled by Valley Springs 13-0, and Ozark Mountain lost to Jasper 16-0.

Mountain Home’s softball team also ended up falling to Farmington by a final of 10-2. Emma King pitched one inning for the Lady Bombers, and Chloe Bohannon was in the circle for the other six. Daelyn Harper led Mountain Home by going 2-for-2 and driving in a run, and Karleigh Drewry was 1-for-3. The Lady Bombers are now 7-5 overall and 3-2 in the league.
Mountain Home did not fare any better in the junior varsity game as they lost to Farmington 6-0. The J.V. Lady Bombers fall to 3-4 on the year.

In other softball, Cotter shut out Viola 5-0, Yellville-Summit was edged out by Mountain View 6-5, Calico Rock pounded Shirley 16-1, Gainesville fell to Willow Springs 4-3, Salem blanked Cave City 10-0, Izard County lost to Heber Springs 5-0, Marshall fell to Quitman 13-2, and Harrison lost to Siloam Springs 19-4.
