Residents in flood-prone areas of Sharp County are strongly encouraged to evacuate before Friday afternoon. Flooding is forecasted in our area over the next couple days, and according to the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office, predictions are indicating a crest of 23 feet.

A window will exist during which assistance will be unavailable once waters reach a critical level. Roads predicted to be affected by the flood include Bobo Lane/Rio No. 2, Bobo Drive, James Road, Loburg Drive, South and North Spring Street and Rail Road, Pine Road, River Road, all of Rio No. 1, Barber Drive, East and West Riverview Road, Blue Belle Hollow Road, Bee Run Road, Upcreek Circle, East Valley, Front Street, Pecan Grove Road, Broken Arrow Lane, Slayton Road, Woodland Hills Road, Lower Riverbend Park, Morgan Hill, Sharp Lane, Griffon Road, Rainbow Road and Holden Lane.
