Nearly a month after Mountain Home High School’s Livi Fosness grabbed 26 rebounds in the opening round of the Class 5A State Tournament, her stat has officially been placed in the Arkansas Activities Association’s record book. Her performance against Little Rock Christian ended up as the most rebounds ever recorded in a state tournament game and the fourth most overall.

The Lady Bomber junior set the new mark on March 5 when Mountain Home beat the Lady Warriors 65-56 in overtime on the campus of Greene County Tech High School in Paragould. The previous state tournament record was set in 1994 by Cari Tanneberger when her Fayetteville team beat the Lady Bombers in the famous eight-overtime state championship game.

Fosness’ 26 boards were four shy of the record for the most rebounds in single game overall. The current mark is 30 rebounds first set in 2014 by Donnesia Clark of KIPP Delta and later tied in 2023 by Chloe Middleton of Ozark Mountain.
