Several road closures throughout area, residents in Flippin get evacuated

The heavy rains have resulted in flooding, leading to several road closures and some evacuations.

The Baxter County Office of Emergency Management is reporting a road closure in Norfork. According to Director David Stults, County Road 63, also known as Norfork River Road, is closed by Rose’s Trout Dock just west of Arkansas Highway 5.

According to the Facebook account known as Marion County Scanner, a few residents are having to be evacuated in Flippin. Waters are reportedly rising on Sunset Street.

Several road closures have been reported by the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office. At last update, the closures included Missouri Highways 101 and 142 in Bakersfield, multiple areas of Missouri Route O, Missouri Route T near Mammoth, Missouri Route H at Patrick Bridge, County Road 540 at Bridges Creek, County Road 103 in Gainesville, County Road 551 (also known as Smokey Road), County Road 578 and County Road 599.

In addition, a highway along the Fulton/Izard county line is temporarily closed. The Izard County Sheriff’s Office states it was notified by the Arkansas Department of Transportation the section of Arkansas Highway 223 at the line is closed due to high water.

ArDOT is reporting a few other highway closures at Arkansas Highway 9 northeast of Union in Fulton County and Arkansas Highway 395 north from Salem to the state line. In addition, Arkansas Highway 333 is closed from U.S. Highway 65 and continuing south of Marshall to Arkansas Highway 27 due to a bridge getting washed out.
