Rainfall results in new record for April 5

The rainfall has resulted in a new precipitation record being broken. At KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot, the official reporting station for the National Weather Service in Mountain Home, 5.61 inches of rain were measured at 7 Saturday morning for the previous 24-hour period. That more than doubled the previous record for April 5 at 2.66 inches in 1936.

The Twin Lakes Area has already surpassed its average for April. The total for the month so far is 7.95 inches, 2.35 inches above April’s average of 5.6.
