Remainder of Bassmaster Open canceled, Scanlon declared winner

The rainfall has forced the cancellation of the remainder of the St. Croix Bassmaster Open on Norfork Lake. Casey Scanlon of Eldon, Mo., was crowned the winner after his opening round of five fish weighing 18 pounds, 5 ounces.

Doug Chapin of Tigerton, Wis., finished as the runner-up with five fish weighing 16 pounds, 13 ounces. Bailey Gay of Union, Ky., was third with five fish at 16 pounds, 11 ounces.

The top area angler was Trey Schroeder of Theodosia as he ended up fourth with five fish weighing 16 pounds, 7 ounces. Tyler Duggins of West Plains finished in a three-way tie for 50th, and Drew Tabor of Harrison was part of a four-way tie for 55th. Mountain Home’s top performer was Brian Crecelius as he took 74th place with four fish weighing 12 pounds, 3 ounces. Wesley Rogers of West Plains finished tied for 82nd, Robert Burtrum of West Plains is in a three-way tie for 95th, Cody Huff of Ava is 126th, Kristopher Bouldin of Norfork and Rick Clunn of Ava are part of a seven-way tie for 147th place, John Hammersmith of Branson was in a three-way tie for 157th, Preston Havens of Mountain Home ended up tied for 161st, Nic Sitton of Melbourne took 164th place, Phillip Isley of Harrison finished tied for 172nd, Andy Hale of Calico Rock was tied for 192nd, Dewayne French of Mammoth Spring ended up tied for 195th, and Rick Pierce of Mountain Home rounded out the top 200.
