When it comes to the period known as severe weather season, the area known as Tornado Alley, which is mainly the central plains of the United States, will normally see its worst conditions between April and June. There is another area known by storm chasers as Dixie Alley, made up Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama. Solomon says Dixie Alley often experiences its peak sooner than Tornado Alley.
