
Several track athletes gathered at Harrison on Thursday for the Goblin Rosson Invitational.
On the girls’ side, Branson got the win, Yellville-Summit finished second, Harrison was third, Omaha ended up fifth, Rural Special took sixth place, Flippin finished eighth, Bergman was ninth, Mountain View ended up 10th, Valley Springs took 11th place, Marshall and Lead Hill finished tied for 14th, Timbo was 16th, and Cotter and Ozark Mountain ended up tied for 17th place.
Among individuals, Fay Chism of Yellville-Summit won the pole vault, fellow Lady Panther Bailey Ervin won the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes, Rural Special’s Rayleigh Turner won the triple jump, Kendra Wagner of Lead Hill won the discus, Valley Springs’ Violet Gamez won the shot put, Ella Davis of Harrison won the 3200-meter run, and Riley Hopson of Omaha won the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs. Harrison’s team of Alyssa Montgomery, Brinkley Dove, Riley Harness and Lily Cate Arnold won the 4×200-meter relay; Maddie Pyshny, Kadien Gilbert, Hopson and Nora Rantz of Omaha won the 4×400-meter relay; and Omaha’s Pyshny, Gilbert, Hopson and Morgan Schmidt won the 4×800-meter relay.
Harrison captured the win on the boys’ side. Marshall took second place, Flippin finished third, Yellville-Summit was fourth, Lead Hill ended up seventh, Timbo took ninth place, Rural Special finished 10th, Omaha was 11th, Valley Springs ended up 12th, Cotter took 13th place, and Harrison’s junior varsity team finished 14th.
Jake Massey of Marshall won the long jump and the 100-meter, 200-meter and 400-meter dashes, Marshall’s Toby Campbell won the discus, Brayden Watts of Rural Special won the 800-meter run, Harrison’s Jaxon Ramsey won the high jump, fellow Goblin Noah Morris won the triple jump and the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles, Hunter Frickle of Harrison won the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs, and Dayton Waters of Harrison won the shot put. Marshall’s team of Connor Miller, Matthew Horton, Tate Kelley and Timothy Martin won the 4×200-meter relay; Nash Wright, Gavin Coker, Samuel Earnest and Frickle of Harrison won the 4×800-meter relay; Harrison’s Eddings, Morris, Caleb Melendez and Frickle won the 4×400-meter relay; and Melendez, Morris, Mason Isbell and Eddings won the 4×100-meter relay.
