
Recently, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed 15 bills into law primarily focusing on the Department of Human Services (DHS) and the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
Five bills were signed for appropriation for the 2025-2026 fiscal year for different division of DHS. Those division include the division of youth, medical services, developmental disabilities services, children and family services and the division of aging, adult and behavioral health services.
The rest of the bills covered appropriations for the 2025-2026 fiscal year for the bureau of legislative research and the legislative council, the office of the governor, the office of the prosecutor coordinator, the auditor of state – operations and unclaimed property program, the Arkansas supreme court, the administrative office of the courts – court personnel appropriation, department of parks, heritage and tourism – state parks and tourism division, the department of agriculture and the University of Arkansas – division of agriculture.
One other bill was signed into law which amends the uniform attendance and leave policy act; and to grant paid leave to public employees in the event of the death of a public employee’s family member or child.
