The subject of a local manhunt is wanted in connection with a fatal shooting occurring at a Bull Shoals residence. Forty-nine-year-old Brooks Dean Due, wanted for first-degree murder and a violation of a protection order, is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached by civilians.
Due is described as a 6-foot-1 white male weighing 265 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, and he may be wearing glasses. He was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and hat, and he is believed to be driving a black 2013 Dodge Avenger with the Arkansas disabled license plate number 305607.
According to Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander, investigators from the sheriff’s office, the Arkansas State Police and the Bull Shoals Police Department are investigating the shooting that occurred Monday morning. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
Sheriff Alexander says authorities are searching for Due in Marion and Baxter counties, though they are not searching a specific location or area.
