Baxter County is three weeks away from its school election with two races on the ballots. Two candidates are looking to succeed a Norfork School Board member who did not run for reelection, and for the county’s residents living in the Calico Rock School District, a current member is facing a challenger in the election scheduled for May 13.

In Norfork, Josh Davis and Matt Wilbur are running for Position 1, currently occupied by Shannon Moody. Current Calico Rock School Board Secretary Kelley Killian is seeking reelection and being challenged by Candace Branscum.

The polls will be open on Election Day from 7:30 a.m to 7:30 p.m. Baxter County Clerk’s Office Election Coordinator Lindsay Roberts says four polling locations will be open.

Baxter County’s only polling location for early voting will be the courthouse in downtown Mountain Home. The early voting period will be May 6-9 and May 12 during the courthouse’s normal business hours of 8 to 4:30. There will be no Saturday voting.

While Mountain Home Public Schools do not have a contested race, residents of the district can cast a ballot at the courthouse, and Roberts says that includes those in Marion County.
