Friday’s schedule includes another road trip for the Mountain Home High School softball team. The Lady Bombers will continue 5A-West action as they go up against Van Buren. The varsity game begins at 5 followed by the junior varsity contest.
Elsewhere on the softball schedule, Cotter travels to Concord, Salem makes the trip to Walnut Ridge, Marshall heads to Rose Bud, Lead Hill travels to Western Grove to face Ozark Mountain, and Harrison makes the trip to Alma.
A few area baseball teams will begin their two-day run in the Southern Invitational.
Dora will be one of the sites for the tournament. The host Falcons take on Hartville at 2, Ava plays Hartville at 4, and Dora will be paired with Ava at 6.
Bakersfield will have its opening games at Alton. The Lions meet the host Comets at 2 and Van Buren, Mo., at 4.
In other high school baseball, Cotter hosts Flippin, Viola heads to Calico Rock, Salem faces Valley Springs at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison, Lead Hill travels to Green Forest, and Bergman entertains Eureka Springs.
