The Mountain Home Christian Clinic will begin the upcoming week by honoring a milestone. Sunday will be the 25th anniversary of the clinic serving its first patient, and a celebration is scheduled for Monday morning.
Mountain Home Christian Clinic Medical Director Brandi Sharp and Board Chairman Danny Ponder were Thursday’s guests of the Talk of the Town on KTLO-FM. Ponder co-founded the clinic with Sharp’s predecessor, Dr. Paul Wilbur, and he says the planning stages began in 1999.

Ponder says prior to its current location, the Christian Clinic had to operate out of three different places in Mountain Home.

The clinic is known for its dental and optometry services, but it has other services including a full-functioning pharmacy, mental health counseling, a pediatric diaper outreach program, shower and laundry services, a food pantry, spiritual counseling and financial counseling. The majority of the clinic’s patient base has been those without insurance, but Sharp says it was able to expand services due to the Affordable Care Act.

The 25th anniversary celebration is scheduled to start at 10 on Monday and continue until noon. Sharp says the event is open to the public.
