An elderly man from Boone County is facing 22 felony charges involving child pornography. Arrested Tuesday was 80-year-old Stanley Lee Lynam of Harrison.

According to the probable cause affidavit from the Harrison Police Department, the investigation started when a repairman from Cox Communications had gone to Lynam’s residence for a service call which required him to access Lynam’s computer. While accessing the computer, he observed an image on a browser of child pornography.

The repairman told Lynam he needed to take care of something and left the residence and went to the police station to report what he had found.

Police obtained a search warrant and returned to Lynam’s residence just over one hour later. They seized a computer and two cell phones.

Twelve days later a search warrant was executed on the electronic devices and law enforcement found 990 images and 523 videos of child pornography. They also discovered 206 websites in Russia visited multiple times by Lynam and 509 websites with compressed videos he also accessed, all containing child pornography.

Lynam is facing 12 counts of distributing, possessing or viewing of matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child and 10 counts of criminal attempt to distributing, possessing or viewing of matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child. He is free after posting $75,000 bond.
