The Mountain Home City Council is expected to consider adoption of the 2018 budget, as well as six new items of business, when it meets in regular session Thursday evening at 6:00.
The proposed budget of $26.3 million is being recommended to the full council following a meeting of the Budget Committee on Tuesday evening. The proposal includes $1.4 million of projected revenue from the voter approved 3/8 percent public safety sales and use tax in September. Collections of the sales tax are set to begin in January, with the first funds to be available to the City of Mountain Home in March for fire and police department needs.
One item of new business, an at large appointment by Mayor Joe Dillard to the Advertising and Promotion Commission, was on the agenda when the council’s November 15th meeting was cancelled.
The remaining new items of business include two presentations, one from Methvin Sanitation regarding the consumer price index and a second on a tobacco use project.
The agenda also includes two funding transfers from within the Water/Wastewater account.
The meeting will be held in the council chambers of the Municipal Building.
