The Dora High School boys’ basketball team went to Ozark Saturday and picked up a win in the Scoreboard Guy Shootout. The Falcons defeated Aurora 72-64.
Gainesville grabbed a pair of lopsided victories at home over Marion C. Early. The Bulldogs easily won the boys’ game over the Panthers 58-20. The afternoon began with Gainesville’s girls routing Marion C. Early 61-22.
The Izard County Invitational Basketball Tournament began Saturday at Izard County High School in Brockwell with four junior high games. In boys’ action, Mammoth Spring eliminated Rural Special 54-21, and Melbourne fell to Cave City 35-30. On the girls’ bracket, Calico Rock lost to Mountain View 45-8, and the host Junior Lady Cougars were toppled by Rural Special 41-9.
