A Gamaliel couple, 48-year-old Michael Denton and 36-year-old Tina Marie Hylton, were arrested Wednesday morning when officers conducted a compliance check at the home of Denton, located at 7536 Highway 101 North. Denton is currently on probation with Arkansas Community Correction.According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, during the course of the check, officers found several items of drug paraphernalia used in the consumption of methamphetamine. Officers also found Hylton hiding from them inside a closet in the house.
Montgomery says both admitted to having recently used methamphetamine.
They were arrested and transported to the Baxter County Detention Center where they were each booked on one charge of felony possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $2,500 each. Denton also has a no bond hold for a probation violation.
They are scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court in February.
