A member of the Mountain Home City Council will be seeking the position of mayor. Shortly after Mayor Joe Dillard announced he will not seek re-election, Councilwoman Nancy Osmon announced she will run for the seat in the November general election.
Osmon has served in the Ward 3, Position 1 seat for the past three years. She currently serves as the chair of the administrative committee, sits on the personnel and parks and recreation committees and serves on the Mountain Home Advertising and Promotion Commission. Osmon is also a previous member of the public safety committee.
Osmon is the co-owner and managing member of A & O Properties. A & O has operated Duncan Place, a 36-unit duplex and four-plex residential complex, for the past 14 years. She is also the secretary and a member of the Captain Nathan Watkins DAR.
Osmon has previously served as Serenity, Inc., director and board member, as a registered nurse at Baxter Regional Medical Center and as a volunteer at the Mountain Home Christian Clinic. Her experience also includes working in human resources and as a training coordinator for Sears, Roebuck and Company in Merrillville, Indiana.
Osmon’s husband David served as Mountain Home’s mayor from 2007 to 2014. The couple has four children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Both are members of First United Methodist Church of Mountain Home.
She says she is grateful for the community support she has received as a member of the city council and if elected, looks forward to serving as mayor.
The general election is scheduled for November 6th.
