Parents and caregivers of children ages birth to 5 can introduce their children to early literacy opportunities through the Story Time program at the Donald W. Reynolds Library Serving Baxter County. The program features interactive stories, songs, rhymes, games, and accompanying activities for preschoolers. The early literacy practices featured each week help build the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

Story Times are sponsored by Kyle and Lyn McAlister and Lynn and Carol Landrum in honor of their mothers. For parents and caregivers, Story Time offers an opportunity to experience early literacy practices in action, to discover books and digital media for sharing with their children, and to socialize with other parents following the program. The weekly Story Time themes are posted at the library each month. No registration is required to participate in the program.

The current program times for the month of March include the Babies and Books Story Time for ages 0-2 on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 and Story Time for ages 3-5 on Wednesday and Saturday mornings at 10:30.
