Voters first elected Brown to the Legislature in 2010. She represented part of suburban St. Louis, including Mehlville.
Brown was known for sponsoring legislation to require businesses to hang
posters advertising the national human trafficking hotline. Another lawmaker took up the measure following her illness, and Gov. Eric Greitens signed the bill into law this month.
Republican Senate Majority Leader Mike Kehoe in a Monday statement touted
Brown’s work on the bill and said she worked “tirelessly” to help women,
children and other vulnerable groups.
Brown previously worked as vice president of information systems for
MasterCard International and as a software tech manager.
