The Boss has been chosen as an ambassador for the Hear the World Foundation, a Swiss charitable organization that aids people around the world, and particularly children, who have hearing loss.
In conjunction with the initiative, Springsteen has had an official portrait photo taken by fellow rocker Bryan Adams, who’s also a Hear the World Foundation ambassador. The black-and-white pic features Bruce posing with a hand held behind one ear, which signifies conscious hearing. Springsteen joins more than 100 other celebrities who have supported the charity during the past decade.
Established in 2006 by the Swiss hearing-loss-solutions company Sonova, the Hear the World Foundation has supported dozens of projects around the globe to help underprivileged children with hearing issues. The charity has provided hearing aids, speech therapy, medical resources and more, as well as promoting various awareness campaigns.
