Don Henley and his current Eagles band mate Vince Gill are among the latest music artists to join the lineup of performers who will honor Dolly Parton as the 2019 MusiCares Person of the Year during a gala event held February 8 in Los Angeles.
Other artists who have been newly added to the bill include Willie Nelson, Mavis Staples, songwriter/producer Linda Perry, and Kacey Musgraves.
The Recording Academy, the organization that hands out Grammy Awards, initially announced Parton as 2019’s MusiCares Person of the Year in September. According to the Recording Academy, the country-pop legend is being honored because of her “significant creative accomplishments and longtime support of many charitable causes.”
Previously announced performers who will salute Parton at the gala include Pink, Norah Jones, Chris Stapleton, Shawn Mendes, Mark Ronson, and Leon Bridges. Dolly will close out the event with her own performance.
The pre-Grammy event on February 8 will raise money for MusiCares, the charitable arm of the Recording Academy. The 61st Annual Grammy Awards take place Sunday, February 10, at the STAPLES Center in L.A. and will air on CBS.
