MHHS basketball teams continue tournament play Friday

Basketball makes up the local Friday schedule as both Mountain Home High School teams continue tournament play.

The Bomber boys will be in Van Buren to play a consolation game in the Citizens Bank and Trust Tournament. Mountain Home will be paired with Bentonville West.
The Bombers are currently 1-1 on the season after suffering a double overtime loss to Subiaco Academy in the opening round. The Wolves fell by 11 to Cabot in the following game.
Tip-off at Clair Bates Arena is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Mountain Home’s girls will be in Missouri to play their final game in the Fair Grove Girls’ Basketball Invitational Tournament. The Lady Bombers will play in the third place game as they meet the host Lady Eagles.
Mountain Home is 2-1 on the year after losing to Clever by seven on Thursday. Fair Grove fell to Logan-Rogersville by a dozen.
Gametime is set for 6:30.

Both Mountain Home games can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.

Izard County’s boys will continue action in the 34th-annual Barry Pruitt Hurricane Classic at Jonesboro. The Cougars will face Pine Bluff in a consolation game at 5:30.

Valley Springs will compete in the annual Mini-State hosted by Drew Central High School in Monticello. Both Tiger teams will start off by playing Dumas.

In other high school basketball, Cotter hosts Viola for Homecoming, Norfork travels to Lead Hill, Flippin makes the trip to Fayetteville to take on Haas Hall Academy, Bruno-Pyatt entertains Calico Rock, Bakersfield heads to Myrtle to play Couch, Gainesville’s boys are home against Bradleyville, Salem hosts Riverside, Mammoth Spring entertains Armorel, Melbourne travels to Monette to meet Buffalo Island Central, Timbo is home against Sacred Heart, Mountain View makes the trip to Bergman, Rural Special hosts Concord, and Jasper heads to Bentonville to face the Northwest Arkansas Classical Academy.

Mountain Home’s three junior high girls’ teams will be on the road to take on Highland. The seventh grade game tips off at 4:00 followed by the eighth grade and freshmen contests.
