In high school basketball Monday, the Battle of the Border Tournament got started at Mammoth Spring.
In girl’s action, Gainesville topped Salem 39-27, Mammoth Spring defeated Bakersfield 46-30 and Koshkonong downed Couch 56-21.
In boy’s action, Mountain View-Liberty defeated Mountain Home Christian Academy 72-65 and Sloan-Hendrix beat Bakersfield 78-60.
In other boy’s action:
-Flippin defeated Lead Hill 61-45 to improve to 11-9 on the season. The Tigers fall to 2-15.
-The Omaha boys lost their first round game at the Green Forest Tournament, falling to West Fork 52-47.
In girl’s play:
-Flippin lost to Lead Hill 62-46. The Lady Bobcats fall to 2-9 while the Lady Tigers up their record to 9-10.
In junior high action, the Cotter junior girls were a 43-8 winner over St. Joe. Kate Cheek pumped in 23 points for Cotter.
