The Audubon Christmas Bird Count for the Buffalo Point circle will be held Saturday. The Christmas Bird Count is an American tradition dating to 1900, and the 42nd year for the Buffalo National River East event. The data are compiled for scientific analysis for the world’s oldest citizen science-based study.

Experts and newcomers are welcome to participate in the annual count.

Those interested in participating should contact Jack Stewart, compiler, for more details. Registrations may be made online at fellowshipofthewings@gmail.com or by phone at 870-715-0260.

A limited number of beds are available for those wishing to stay overnight Friday, in order to be on location Saturday morning. Those staying overnight must bring their own bedding. Dinner will be provided.

Buffalo National River Partners is the official sponsor of the bird count.
