A woman found unresponsive when police came to a residence along East First Street in Mountain Home to follow up on a theft report in early February last year appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday and entered a guilty plea to drug-related charges.
Twenty-year-old Caitlin McKenzie-Hopkins was put on probation for three years.
On the day the officers found her unresponsive in a bedroom of the residence, she was transported by ambulance to Baxter Regional Medical Center for treatment.
A wallet belonging to the woman was found in the residence. It contained a plastic bag holding a crystalline substance field testing positive for methamphetamine.
According to the probable cause affidavit, McKenzie-Hopkins admitted to police the substance in the bag was methamphetamine, and she had used the drug the night before being found passed out by police.
McKenzie-Hopkins was sentenced under provisions of Act 346, known as the first offender law. If she stays out of trouble during her probation period, she can apply to the courts to have her records sealed.
