Our Community Cares for April is

    Baxter County Library

Opening its doors in 1953, Baxter County Library offers educational, as well as cultural, programming and exhibits for all ages with community-building events such as Tech Help or Color Me Calm for adults, Library Council or Friday After Hours for teens, and Home School Advantage or Arts ‘R Us for kids, just to list a few!

Baxter County Library also takes focus in early literacy development for Pre-K children by the creation of the Baxter County Library Early Literacy Project. This project, in collaboration between the Baxter County Library, Mountain Home, Cotter, and Norfork School Districts, Schliemann Center for Women’s Health Education, ASUMH, aims to equip children with the literacy skills they need to be prepared to start Kindergarten.

National Library Week is April 8th-April 13th and Baxter County Library will be celebrating with the theme “Ready, Set, Library!” The theme for National Library Week 2024 resonates with the fast-paced world we live in, reminding us that libraries are the go-to destination for something extraordinary. They provide a space to connect, learn, and focus on what truly matters. In celebration of National Library Week, donations for Serenity Domestic Violence Support & Shelter will be accepted in exchange for Library fine forgiveness, up to $50 per card! Discover your crew during National Library Week by attending programs, workshops, and book clubs. No matter where you are on life’s journey—preparing for a new career, launching a business, or raising a family—your library is here for you, offering an inclusive and supportive community where everyone belongs.
