
Just two days after the launch of the new Veterans Community Care Program, a veterans fair is set for Saturday at the Baxter County Fairgrounds offering an opportunity to secure information about this new initiative, as well as other community resources. The event will be held from 10 until 2 and will include a salute to Korean War veterans at 1, as well as lunch provided by Elmcroft.
On Thursday, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs reported the new community care program has rolled out implementing portions of the VA Maintaining Internal Systems and Strengthening Integrated Outside Networks Act of 2018 or MISSION Act.
In a recent visit to KTLO-FM’s Talk of the Town, Baxter County Veterans Service Officer Charles Leonard said more than 20 vendors will be on hand for Saturday’s event offering information about community resources.
