Miss Arkansas contestant from MH wins preliminary award

One of the five contestants from North Central Arkansas competing for the title of Miss Arkansas this week in Little Rock has captured a preliminary award.

Sydney Wendfeldt of Mountain Home captured the social impact in evening wear award in the alpha group. The 44 contestants are divided among three groups as they compete for the Miss Arkansas title.

Wendfeldt is one of two contestants from Mountain Home. Alexis Ungerank is competing for the title for the second year.

Also competing from North Central Arkansas are Reagan Wheelis of Melbourne and Ebony Mitchell and Taylor Hensley, both of Harrison. Mitchell is also competing for the title for the second year.

The Miss Arkansas pageant will be held Saturday evening at 7 and will air on KATV.

The 2019 Miss Arkansas pageant is a preliminary for the Miss America competition in 2020.
