Highway commission approves 5 bids for north Arkansas projects

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved bids for five improvements in North Central Arkansas, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

In Fulton County, a bridge will be replaced and a box culvert installed on State Highway 289 over English Creek.

West Plains Bridge & Grading, LLC was awarded the contract at $2.6 million.

Completion is expected in late 2020.

In Izard County, a bridge on State Highway 56 over the Strawberry River will be replaced.

West Plains Bridge & Grading, LLC was awarded the contract at $3.39 million.

Completion is expected in mid 2020.

In Stone County, a project will resurface 1.3 miles of County Road 21 (Luber Road) and 1.6 miles County Road 28 (Misenheimer) near Hanover.

Atlas Asphalt, Inc. of Batesville was awarded the contract at $354,528.

Completion is expected in late 2019.

In Searcy County, a project will repair .88 miles of slide damage on State Highway 377.

Marion County Paving, LLC of Summit was awarded the contract at $1.6 million.

Completion is expected in early 2020.

In Boone County, construction and installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of U.S. Highway 65 and U.S. Highway 62, south of Harrison will be completed.

Ewing Signal Construction, LLC of Nixa was awarded the contract at $289,019.

Completion is expected in mid 2020.

Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks on all five projects, weather permitting.
