Courtesy of The Marshall Tucker BandThe Marshall Tucker Band has announced the first dates for a 2020 U.S. tour dubbed the Southern Rockin’ Roundup.

So far, more than 20 concerts have been confirmed, beginning with a January 10 show in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin, and plotted out through an October 17 gig in Steelville, Missouri.

Among the dates is a series of five joint performances in May with Charlie Daniels Band, including stops in Washington, D.C., on May 1 and in the New York City suburb of Westbury, New York, on May 9.

Other major cities The Marshall Tucker Band will visit next year include Raleigh, North Carolina; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Kansas City, Missouri. The group’s also lined up a pair of two-night engagements: January 17-18 in Walhalla, South Carolina, and February 21-22 in Harris, Michigan.

“The future of The Marshall Tucker Band is overwhelming,” says founding lead singer Doug Gray. “We are all stunned and excited at the amount of shows being booked for next year’s Southern Rockin’ Roundup tour. We’ll be announcing lots more shows soon, and when all is said and done, 2020 will be our biggest touring year in recent memory.”

Meanwhile, as previously reported, last month for 2019 Record Store Day Black Friday, The Marshall Tucker Band released an archival concert album capturing a New Year’s Eve 1978 performance in New Orleans as limited-edition two-LP vinyl and two-CD sets.

The album, titled New Year’s in New Orleans: Roll Up ’78 And Light Up ’79, is expected to get a wide release in late January 2020.
