A local man struck it big shortly after the Missouri Lottery introduced a new scratch-off game. Jeremy Burkett of Theodosia won the $55,558 top prize the 5X Bingo game.
The game became available in February, and Burkett purchased the ticket three weeks later at Bullseye at the junction of U.S. Highway 160 and Ozark County Road 639 in Theodosia. The 5X Bingo game is a $3 scratch-off game with over $8.7 million in remaining prizes, including four more top prizes.
In the most recent fiscal year, Ozark County players won more than $1.2 million in Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers in Ozark County received more than $137,000 in commissions and bonuses, and an additional $224,776 went to educational programs in the county.
