Mountain Home High School’s Dominic Pizzimenti was elected Arkansas State FFA eastern vice president at the Arkansas Virtual State FFA Convention that took place on May 20 and 21.
Pizzimenti is a 2020 graduate of Mountain Home High School and an officer of the Mountain Home FFA Chapter. Pizzimenti is the son of Josh and Sacha Pizzimenti. He plans to attend Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, where he will major in agriculture education and minor in agriculture business.
Each year at the State FFA Convention, six students are elected by delegates to represent the organization as state FFA officers. Delegates elect a president, secretary, reporter and three vice presidents representing the southern, eastern and western regions of the state.
State officers commit to a year of service to the state FFA organization. Each officer travels to interact with business and industry leaders, thousands of FFA members and teachers, corporate sponsors, government and education officials, state FFA leaders, the general public and more. The state team will lead personal growth and leadership conferences for FFA members throughout Arkansas and help set policies that will guide the future of FFA and promote agricultural literacy.
Josie Kelly, the daughter of Rowdy and Julie Kelly, served on the audit committee. The Mountain Home FFA Chapter was recognized as a State Superior Gold Chapter and state FFA scholarships were awarded to Pizzimenti, Russell Sharpe and Peyton Barton. The Mountain Home FFA Chapter advisors are Josh Baker, Jacquie Albright, Carson White, Owen Carpenter and Richard Grissum.
Arkansas FFA is planning a follow-up on July 1-3 during the 93rd Arkansas FFA State Convention in Hot Springs.
Through agricultural education and hands-on learning, FFA members are preparing for 255 unique career opportunities in the food, fiber and natural resources industries.
