Three people have been arrested following a manhunt in northeast Baxter County Monday afternoon. The manhunt started following a brief pursuit of a man on a motorcycle. The three arrested, 46-year-old Jason Joseph Krug of Henderson, 41-year-old Charles Lloyd Gamble of Henderson and 25-year-old Charley Drew Curtis of Mountain Home, are all facing felony charges.
Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says the incident began when a sheriff’s investigator and an agent with the 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force notified dispatch they were in pursuit of a motorcycle on Reid Lane in the Henderson area. The driver of the motorcycle was identified as Krug, who had an outstanding felony warrant for drug offenses in the city of Mountain Home and fled when the officers tried to stop him. When he reached the end of Reid Lane, Krug rode his motorcycle along a dirt path before abandoning it and fleeing on foot. At this point, additional law enforcement, the sheriff’s office helicopter and the canine tracking team from the Arkansas Department of Correction at Calico Rock were all called to assist.
The canine team was able to track Krug to a residence on Deerfield Lane. Deputies tried to contact Krug at the residence, but no one inside responded. Investigators began working on obtaining a search warrant, and the Special Response Team (SRT) from the Mountain Home Police Department was called to make entrance into the house.
The search warrant was delivered and at that point, the female, Curtis, came out of the residence. The SRT then went into the home where they found Krug hiding in a shower and another man identified as Gamble.
Krug is charged with six felonies, including fleeing, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. His bond is set at $35,000.
