Founded in 1967, the Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police (AACOP) has been the face and voice of professional law enforcement executives for more than 50 years. The AACOP has more than 300 active members, representing more than 200 Arkansas Law Enforcement agencies. Chief Kuchenbecker will assume the presidency on Sept. 24 and will serve for the next year.
The installation of the AACOP’s officers has historically occurred at the annual conference, but this year’s conference was canceled amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
The AACOP promotes advances in the science of police administration, community policing and crime prevention through the development and dissemination of the best professional, administrative practices. While fostering an environment rich in cooperation and information exchange throughout Arkansas and the nation.
Additionally, the AACOP is well recognized and respected among the Arkansas Legislature and often works alongside legislators to draft and enact legislation and push creative initiatives in an effort to benefit law enforcement and communities throughout the state.
