Vaccination numbers climb, but waiting list remains route to inoculation

The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) says 186,105 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the state as of Thursday.

Arkansas remains in Phase 1B, which is open to those ages 70-and-over, teachers and school staff, childcare and higher education workers.

Residents of Baxter and Marion counties wanting to receive the COVID-19 vaccine must sign up for a waiting list with participating local pharmacies.

In Baxter County, two options are available. To get on the list at Medi Save Pharmacy, call 870-424-4010. Calls will be answered and names will be placed on a waiting list.

At Heartland Pharmacy, sign-ups are available only online heartland-rx.com. The application must be filled out and applicants will be contacted.

Those who seek the vaccine should only contact one pharmacy. Contacting two pharmacies and getting on both lists could result in the applicant being removed from any lists.

Baxter Regional Medical Center is not part of the current vaccine rollout and asks the public to “hold all inquiry calls regarding the vaccine at this time.” The facility will issue updates as warranted.

In Marion County, the only participating pharmacy chosen by the Arkansas Department of Health is Harps Pharmacy in Yellville.
