Fire damages unoccupied Baxter County residence

A Friday morning fire caused damage to an unoccupied residence in Baxter County. According to the Mountain Home Fire Department, the residence is located at 93 Tucker Cemetery Road.

The fire reportedly started in the floor area of the kitchen. According to the report, the house had 30% fire damage and 100% smoke damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The alarm came in at 8:11 a.m., and crews were on the scene for nearly 2 1/2 hours. Ten personnel went to the residence with two fire engines, a tanker and two support vehicles, and another five firefighters were on standby. Mountain Home had assistance from the Buford Fire Department.
