Three local women are celebrating career milestones.

Izard County Medical Center (ICMC) in Calico Rock is celebrating CEO Kim Skidmore’s 40 years of employment with the hospital.

In a social media post, ICMC says Skidmore joined the staff of what was then Calico Rock Medical Center in 1981.

She started out in reception, working with Carolyn Jeffery, Dr. Anthony Grasse, Dr. Robert Lane and Dr. Gary Villines. From there, Skidmore continued her education, moving to medical records. In 2013, Skidmore became CEO of what is now Izard County Medical Center.

At the Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District (NWAEDD) in Harrison, Beverly Taylor has retired after serving as a career advisor with the agency.

NWAEDD notes in a social media post Taylor has impacted many lives during her career.

At the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) of Northwest Arkansas, headquartered in Harrison, Hilda Hodnett is retiring April 2 after nearly 30 years of service with the organization, the agency says in a news release.

Hodnett, a licensed social worker, began working with the AAA of Northwest Arkansas in October 1991 as case manager in Baxter County. Although the job title later changed to care coordinator, the service she provided remained the same.

Throughout her career, Hodnett served in many additional capacities with the organization, including backup ombudsman for the long-term care facilities in the area, serving on the board of directors for the Willowbrook Housing Complex and being an interpreter for the Arkansas SHIP program for many counties across the state.

“Hilda is always willing to give a helping hand to her coworkers in other counties, providing training and a wealth of knowledge and wisdom,” the agency says in announcing Hodnett’s retirement.

The Area Agency on Aging of Northwest Arkansas is a non-profit organization serving individuals that are 60 years of age and older, disabled, disabled veterans and their family caregivers in Baxter, Benton, Boone, Carroll, Madison, Marion, Newton, Searcy and Washington counties in Northwest Arkansas since 1979.

Hodnett and her husband, Troy, are longtime residents of Mountain Home where she enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

“Hilda’s career can most definitely be described as one of selfless service to others, and dedication to this agency,” the Area Agency on Aging of Northwest Arkansas says.
