The annual Arkansas Electric Cooperative-sponsored youth tour to Washington, D.C. is going virtual this year.North Arkansas Electric Cooperative (NAEC) says after the event was canceled in 2020, this year’s youth tour will be a web-based opportunity for high school juniors in June.

– hearing from Arkansas business, education and faith leaders on the pandemic,
– electing a youth leadership council (YLC) representative for Arkansas in the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s YLC program, and
– learning how students could earn a $5,000 college scholarship by planning and executing an optional public service project in the local community.
The virtual experience will be conducted via Zoom in a two-hour time slot each day June 18 and June 21-25.
Applications can be downloaded at naeci.com/youth-tour. Applications are also available through high school counselors’ offices.
