A local school district is in search of a new head football coach. After four years at the helm, Lucas Morris is leaving Yellville-Summit to become the quarterbacks coach at Harrisburg High School.
Morris says the main reason for relocating to Northeast Arkansas was family.

Morris was hired at Yellville-Summit in 2017 after previously serving as the head coach at West Junior High School in West Memphis. The Panthers went to the postseason in the first three years of Morris’ tenure. He says not only is he proud of what his teams have done on the field, but he has also enjoyed the relationships he has built with his players and the community.

In addition to his high school duties, Morris will also serve as the head coach for Harrisburg’s junior high program. He says another aspect he looks back on with pride is how Yellville-Summit’s junior high program has been built up over the last four years.

Morris says he expects to be traveling to Harriburg within the next couple of weeks.
