Outgoing Mountain Home High School senior Marcie Cudworth has received more recognition for her time as a Lady Bomber. Cudworth was presented on Tuesday with the Jim Holsted Athlete of the Year Award.
Cudworth excelled in three sports during her time at Mountain Home. She is a four-time All-State and All-Conference cross country performer with a pair of individual state championships in 2019 and 2020. Cudworth is also a three-time individual conference champion and helped the Lady Bombers win the team conference title four consecutive years and the state title this past fall.
Cudworth was also a top performer in track and field. On Thursday, she won the Class 5A state title in the 3200-meter run. In addition, Cudworth is part of a team currently holding the school record in the 4×800-meter relay.
Cudworth has also played a key role on Mountain Home’s softball team. She has been a four-year starter for the Lady Bombers and was selected as a second team All-Conference player in 2018. She and the Lady Bombers will host the Class 5A State Tournament beginning Thursday as they meet Sheridan.
In addition to the playing fields, Cudworth has also excelled in the classroom. She was a four-time All-Academic athlete in both cross country and softball.
Cudworth signed her national letter of intent in December, and she’ll join the cross country and track programs at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. Marcie is the daughter of Chris and Stephanie Cudworth of Mountain Home.
The other finalists for the Jim Holsted Athlete of the Award include Bryce McKay, Kylee Sabella and Dawson Tabor.
