Springfield man killed in crash on Highway 62/412 near Yellville

A 55-year-old Springfield man was killed and two passengers injured in a crash Monday afternoon on U.S. Highway 62/412 west of Yellville.

According to a preliminary fatal crash summary from the Arkansas State Police, Robert Shawn Harriman died in the crash, while passengers 64-year-old Diana Reed Harriman and 85-year-old Chelsey Frank Harriman suffered injuries that sent them to Baxter Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The summary reports Robert Harriman was driving a 2008 Ford F-650 and while negotiating a downhill turn, exited the right side of the roadway, over corrected and reentered the highway in a side skid. The truck crossed the center line and exited the left side of the roadway, struck rocks and multiple trees and overturned, coming to rest on the eastbound side of the road on its roof.

Road conditions were dry at the time of the 1:18 p.m. accident.
