A report of shots being fired after a dispute between an estranged couple has led to the arrest of a 33-year-old Norfork woman.

Brandy Nicole Ault faces felony charges of aggravated assault on a household member and second-degree unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle. She was arrested shortly before noon Wednesday and released at 1:29 p.m. on a $10,000 bond, according to electronic jail records.

The incident occurred on May 30, shortly after 2 a.m. at a residence on County Road 39. According to the probable cause affidavit, Ault arrived at the residence her estranged husband shares with two other family members, accompanied by several other unnamed individuals in her vehicle.

A verbal argument ensued and Ault was allegedly observed by the victim outside her car holding a handgun. Ault entered her vehicle and appeared to leave, but the car stopped and the victim allegedly heard a gunshot and saw a muzzle flash. Ault then left the property.

Authorities found no bullet holes in the residence, but were presented with a 9-millimeter shell casing the victim says he located at the scene.

A witness in the home reportedly heard gun shot, but did not see the incident.
