New interventional cardiologist joins Baxter Regional Medical Center

Dr. Akihiro Kobayashi

Baxter Regional Medical Center has added Akihiro Kobayashi, MD, to its medical staff.

Dr. Kobayashi is a board certified interventional cardiologist that is bringing his excellent care and expertise in structural cardiology to the residents of Baxter and surrounding counties.

Dr. Kobayashi originally obtained his Medical Degree in Internal Medicine in Aishi, Japan, and New York and went on to complete a Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Arizona-Phoenix. His previous professional experience includes practicing at Tokyo Bay Medical Center in Chiba, Japan, and the U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka in Kanagawa, Japan.

He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology subspecialties, the Alliance for Physician Certification & Advancement in Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and Nuclear Cardiology and the National Board of Echocardiography.

Kimberly Foxworthy, Baxter Regional Structural Heart Program Coordinator, says “We are very excited to welcome Dr. Kobayashi to Mountain Home. His specialized skill set and experience will allow Baxter Regional to continue to deliver excellent cardiac care within our community.”

Dr. Kobayashi recently relocated to the Twin Lakes area with his wife and 3 young children.
