MH 7th, 8th graders finish 2nd at West Plains cross country meet

Mountain Home’s seventh and eighth grade cross country runners had a good showing Tuesday as both teams finished second in the HCAA Meet at West Plains.

Jayla Yonkers led Mountain Home on the girls’ side by finishing third in a personal best time of 10:25. Lucy Koehn was fifth in 11:25, Cicely Goettler crossed the line in 11:31 to take seventh place, Mary McConnell ended up 17th, and Haley Kotlicky finished 20th.

Mountain Home was led on the boys’ side by Trenton Smith as he ended up third with a time of 9:07. Garrett Barr was fourth in 9:25, Isaac Ballard crossed the line in 9:41 to take eighth place, Caiden Kaspar finished ninth in 9:52, and Levi Payne ended up 10th in 9:53.

Pinkston Middle School was also well-represented in the fifth and sixth grade division. Eliana Pepin had a personal best time of 11:27 in the girls’ race to take seventh place. Mountain Home also had personal bests from all six of their boys as Wave Simmons was eighth, Tyson Kemp finished 11th, Brody Rose ended up 14th, David Bevel took 17th place, Hayden Drake was 25th, and Ryan Cooper finished 40th.
