Friday’s rainfall has set a new record in the Twin Lakes Area, and it has also led to reports of water rescues in Southern Missouri.

At KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot, the official reporting station for the National Weather Service in Mountain Home, 3.56 inches of rain have fallen since 7 Friday morning and 7 Saturday morning. The previous record for this day was 2.1 inches in 1995.

Howell County was one of the areas where rescues were conducted. According to KYTV/KSPR, emergency management reported a water rescue call along Indian Creek near County Road 5710.

The Springfield tv stations also say the Taney County Office of Emergency Management reported two water rescue incidents. One was along Roark Creek, and the other was at an unspecified location. Officials report multiple slide-off accidents, but no major injuries at this time. Taney County E.M. officials also report one commercial building was struck by lightning before 6 Friday evening, but the extent of damage is unknown.
