In high school basketball in the area Tuesday night:
In girls’ action:
-Cotter defeated Lifeway Christian 60-38 to improve to 12-6 on the season. Kate Cheek led the scoring with 18 points, and Becca Benedict added 13 points. Cotter won the junior girls’ contest 48-15. Shawna Beth Foster led the way with 15 points.
-Yellville-Summit was a 57-33 winner at Eureka Springs to move their record to 13-3 on the season.
-Ozark Mountain Home topped Lead Hill 63-31 to improve to 12-9.
-Valley Springs ran past Elkins 61-22 and is now 14-8 on the year.
-Mammoth Spring blasted Maynard 77-34 to push their record to 18-6. Megyn Upton had 23 points, and Brynn Washam had 20 for the Lady Bears.
In boys’ action:
-Mountain Home Christian Academy won at Ozark Christian in West Plains 75-60. Gideon Spray led four players in double figures with 20 points, Dawson Bingham scored 12, and Trenton Cox and Gabe Spray each had 11. In the junior boys’ game, MHCA was a 50-32 winner. Kolby Woods and Lucas Harrelson each had 13 points.
-Cotter breezed past Lifeway Christian 58-34 to improve to 14-10.. Hayden Hutson led the attack with 20 points, Colton Jones scored 13, and Trace Ewing had 10.
-Yellville-Summit lost to Eureka Springs 69-24. The Panthers drop to 1-12 on the season.
-Ozark Mountain downed Lead Hill 60-54. The Bears improve to 12-10, while the Tigers fall to 14-15.
-Mammoth Spring got past Maynard 37-31. Brayden Cray and Andrew Jones each scored 10 points for the Bears who improve to 12-12 on the season.
On the junior high level:
-The Mountain Home eighth grade boys defeated Melbourne 35-22 to move their record to 2-6. Jackson Corp led the scoring with 11 points.
-The Izard County junior girls upped their record to 14-2 with a 43-39 win at Marmaduke. Quinn Johnson led the way with 18 points, and Emily Stephens and Makensie Yancey each scored 10.
