The former owners of a Harrison business have been arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including theft and attempt to evade or defeat taxes.
According to the probable cause affidavits, 69-year-old Kennith Ray Allen and his wife, 54-year-old Glynna Allen, are charged in connection with the alleged thefts from their former business, Advantage Air and Service.
Their arrests follow an investigation that began last October when the current owner filed a report with the Harrison Police Department.
The current owner told law enforcement he believed his in-laws had stolen money from his business. He said he had discovered emails, falsified invoices and evidence the former owners had profited from jobs his employees had performed.
The current owner said he was continually struggling financially despite the business’ sales increasing yearly. He said Glynna Allen served as the company’s bookkeeper, while Kennieth Allen assisted with certification checks and work orders.
The Allens have been charged with
* Theft of property, a Class D felony;
* Theft of property, a Class C felony;
* Theft of property, a Class B felony;
* Unauthorized use of another person’s property to facilitate a crime, a Class B felony;
* Computer fraud, a Class D felony;
* Attempt to evade or defeat taxes (two counts), a Class C felony; and
* Falsifying a business record, a Class A misdemeanor.
Their bonds were set at $25,000 each.
