Primary ballot set for Baxter County following drawing

The ballot in Baxter County for the Preferential Primary Election in May is set following the ballot position drawing held Tuesday morning.

Baxter County and Circuit Clerk Canda Reese says Brian Plumlee will have the first position in the Republican Primary for Baxter County judge. Shannon Feliccia will be second on the ballot, Kevin Litty will be third, and Joseph Payne will be listed fourth.

In the Republican Primary for sheriff in Baxter County, Henry Campfield will be listed at the top of the ballot, John Pate will be second, and John Montgomery will be listed third.

There are two contested justice of the peace races in the Republican Primary. In District 10, Shannon Walker drew the top position on the ballot, Vincent Anderson will be listed second, Ernest Adkins is third, and Sheila Wingard will be listed fourth. In District 11, Tom Canta will be listed first, and Gary Chapman will be second.

Two constable races will be also be held in the Republican Primary. In District 2, Daniel Carley drew the top spot on the ballot, Patrick Smith will be listed second, and Walter Frank Hottes will be listed third. Hottes filed prior to the deadline last week, but due to a mix-up of paperwork in the clerk’s office, his name was not released as a candidate. In District 8, Tyler Brown drew the Number 1 spot on the ballot, with Randy Sandland listed second.

There are two school board races in Mountain Home on the ballot. For Position 2, Bob Chester drew the top spot on the ballot, while Arnold Knox will be listed second. For Position 4, Barbara Horton will be listed first, with Carrie Ramsey listed second.

On the Norfork School Board, Elayna Southard will be listed first, with Chad McGowan listed second.

The Primary Election is set for May 24 with early voting starting May 9. The deadline to register to vote, if you are not already a registered voter, is April 24.
